Description
After the tremendous success of the 1950’s Dubrovnik set , this design underwent several revisions to increase its play ability, including improving the shape of the knight and a wider rook.
The bases of all the pieces have been made chunkier and fatter. In fact this set is amongst the heaviest in its class.
The design has been reconstructed using photographs of various antique original versions of the set.
Renowned Chess Grandmaster Bobby Fischer famously master once quoted – “This is the best set I have ever played on. It is marvelous.”
Intricate carvings have been done on all the pieces by our expert craftsmen who have laboured over each piece to make an exquisite design pattern. The chess pieces have been then finished with a fire gun to give the appearance of burnt chess men. The set is then lacquer polished in a glossy finish.
